Dear City Council,

Over the past week, members of the community have been canvassing neighborhoods to get word out regarding Lam’s upcoming hearings. Each day during our canvas we checked the city website to make sure the schedule had not changed. Today, we learned that Lam requested a postponement a week ago. This was not announced to the public and the city website has still not been updated. As a result, all the flyers we distributed have obsolete dates.

The first hearing was scheduled for two weeks from tonight. Many residents are still planning to attend based on that original date, and unfortunately we do not have an efficient way to reach all of them in time, but the City does.

We are asking the City of Tualatin to provide updates to the community right now explaining that the hearings have been postponed at the request of the applicant. There is no need to wait for new hearing dates to be confirmed before letting the public know that the old dates are now obsolete. Due to the short time frame, we believe that three methods will be necessary now to reach all interested parties in time:

1) Update the city website.
2) Send an email update to each person who has provided public comment.
3) Mail a postcard to every household in the Riverpark CIO.

We ask for your assistance in keeping the community up to date on this very important issue.
